Old Carved Wood Black Cat

I have this old carved wood black cat. It measures aprox. 7.5" from chin to the top of the head and 9.5" from side to side. I was wondering if any one has seen this piece before, or had any information on it. I thought maybe it was possibly a advertising piece for "Black Cat Fireworks" it is very similar to the image they use. Or possibly a Halloween item or just folk art. Any help would be appreciated.
