Was wondering if anyone can help me out with any information on this piece, don't know if I should have it restored or keep it as is. Any information will be helpful. No one locally can help me out with identifying. Thank you in advance greatly appreciated.

Very cool! I would suggest you fight the urge to re-do. More times than not you will destroy the value.
Thanks for the information, I never would have figured out it was a sewing box, I picked it up for 3 Dollars at a tag sale was gonna use it as a small parts tool box for all my drill bits. I'm probably gonna have it professionally restored at this point.
