My old pedal horse

Opened an old trunk at my parent's place and found to my delight the old rocking horse I used to ride as a young child and was amazed at the condition. Did some research and I understand it's a 1940's Mobo Pony Express. Rubber on the wheels is like new, and the pedal and steering mechanisms work like new as they did when it was put in the trunk many many years ago. They sure don't make them like they used to! I do have to wonder though about the paint on it (lead?), and all the sharp edges....does that make it a hazard?
