    If this is what I was told it was,it's suppose to be n early wagon jack,the handle was used to lift the wagon of the ground and then there are notches on the post on the rear of it that the handle can hook into to hold it up.

      Used to lift early wagons to repair wheels and/or grease the hubs. Old wagon hubs were wood on wood and required a lot of grease, this made it possible for one person to do it.
