very large 15 4.5 and heavy 6lbs is dark at bottom and is lighter at top. the mark on the bottom is smooth - it doesn't look like it in pictures. is it a vase? is it hand made or a mold?

Your piece has a Pontil mark on the bottom, which tells it is a hand blown piece.
"A Pontil mark or punt mark is the scar where the pontil, punty or punt was broken from a work of blown glass." I can't tell if the top was applied afterwards or not. The size and weight suggests it's not a vase. But I maybe wrong. Perhaps an apothecary item, or industrial. Also, I can't see that it would have a cork stopper, also because of the size and weight. We need wiser minds here!
