We just found this in an old box of my mother in laws. Probably been in storage 20 years. It is glazed orange and brown. I have no other information. No marks on bottom, but appears to have an indentation where a pontil mark may have been?

Agree with charcoal - it's glass. Not possible to positively ID it. Many of these sorts of glass items are Asian imports.

Is the top rim ground and polished? There does not appear to be a pontil mark on the bottom of the piece. I hate to ask for another pic, but a pic of the rim would be good, taken close if possible and at an angle to show the finish of the rim. A pic of the base at a about a 45 degree angle which shows the bottom better, to make sure there is not a pontil mark that has been ground or polished, would help also. Thanks.

Ok I know you cant really tell from the photo but it appears to have had a pontil mark that was smoothed out. I hope the rim picture helps though.
The indent on the bottom is not a pontil mark, simply an indented base. Not uncommon in early glass. The ground rim indicates that it would have been clown in a mold and then finished by grinding and polishing the rim after it had been annealed in an oven.
The glass in my opinion is ca 1920-30's and is Czech..... the specific maker may be hard to nail down for sure. There is not a doubt in my mind that it is Czech though....
A picture of the entire vase would be nice to see.

Ok Scott there's the pictures of the whole vase. I had replaced them so welzebub could see the rim.
Your vase resembles some Welz production, buy I can not say for sure that it is theirs.
