I purchased this from a sweet family who is downsizing. They told me they purchased it in 1987 from a woman who owned it in Canada. Other than that, I know nothing. Can anyone tell me anything about this beautiful piece?
Beautiful! Tiger maple (I think), with wonderful carvings, and dovetailed drawers. Are there any labels or stamps on the back, or under the drawers, also on the side of drawers.
I don't see anything on the drawers. On the back there is a stamp of 1217.
It is a slant top desk. Looks to be oak and early 20th century.
Very useful and well maintained.

What a stunning desk...looks to be from the arts and crafts movement period. The wood is definitely oak and the cut of the wood (quartersawn) results in the grain having flake patterns in it. Especially love the carved ends.
