Three bottles of very old liquor bottles sealed. Two are DOM BENEDICTINE. The bottles appear to be very old and have many glass bubbles. Two can be seen to be sealed with lead and paper/sealing wax. I had 3 of the Dom but opened one and drank it . It was very good.
The other Crème De Menthe , labeled, A Droz and company. Age?
They were given to me by a family friend who brought them back from France after WWII. He had others that he consumed.
I've never been accused of having full bottles at home. Your family friend sure wasn't a big drinker !
These would date to the mid-1940s or earlier because the labels bear the old style name, "Veritable Benedictine. By the late 1940s the word "veritable" was removed. I would guess 1930s or 1940s is probably correct, which would fit with your story about the family friend who brought them back from France after WWII. Old Benedictine bottles aren't hugely valuable but they are still collectible and desired by a certain type of vintage spirits collector. Cheers, --Eric ewitz@comcast.net
