Just showing off my latest find :)
Gorgeous three graced cameo in a .585 14k gold setting. Has an unusual tube hinge for a 20th century piece. I suspect that this is by one of G Noto's students, from what Ive learned on the web, but really am not sure

Absolutely gorgeous cameo, wonderful Three Graces carving into the shell. To me, the slightly bent pin in back is one indication this is quite antique, if it's a real Noto it is worth a fortune. Fabulous find

It was not signed by Giovaani Noto himself. The name is scratched in so badly, have to wonder if it was even put there by the very skilled person who cut the cameo. Midway through his life Noto took over artistic direction of the Giovanni Apa company, & you also see cameos with this name on the back, presumably workshop, not hand, of.
Brooches with the old style hinge & long pin stem combined with a relatively modern rollover safety clasp are characteristic of cameos set in Italy in the earlier part of the 20th century. It makes them look older than they are. The pin on this one may have been bent deliberately by someone who did not want the tip poking out past the edge, snagging in things.
