I came across what could be a great find, but I wish I knew a little more about this item. I discovered an "Ashcroft American" thermometer that may have gone on a fridge or some item such as that.
I was curious to see if this was worth anything or if I discovered a heavy paperweight. If anyone knows some background information on this *still operating* object, I would love the insight. Thanks for all the help in this matter!

Are there any numbers or other info on the item ? it's hard to see at this angle but I think it's a Mercury Thermometer..... they don't make these any more but Ashcroft is still making gauges and may be the best place to find out about this one.....google ashcroft gauges........
I have discovered what this item was used for. If you look at the gauges, the temperature goes a little higher than normal. There is a pipe fitting below the gauge that would go on some utility. After research and visiting an antique store, I have found that this Ashcroft went on a furnace. Thanks for all the help!
