I'm wondering if anyone can tell me the story of this..Age guesstimate,what the lower symbols mean. I know nothing about antiquities and I really appreciate the wonderful people who have been able to help me. Thank you
I’m not an expert on these, but this looks really old, especially how thin the fabric is. If I had to guess, maybe 1850- ish or maybe earlier???
Not my area of expertise, but guessing some time around 1800, before or after. The symbols at the bottom were probably just designs to demonstrate her needle work skills.

I read her name as Beattie F. Wheat. Middle names did not come into common use in the US until the 1820s. Some upper class families used middle names much earlier, though.
On Ancestry.com, I found a Frances Beattie Wheat born 1824 and died in 1907 who was married to a Lewis Benedict about 1850. They lived in Brimfield, IL,which is about an hour from where I live. That could date the sampler to about 1834....
