Old vase or flask? I found at a local estate sale of a lady who traveled over to Asia around 1910 and collected old items whe she lived there. It measures about 9 1/4 " tall and has a silver engraved collar with what appears to have been a spot where a chain attached amd maybe it had a lid at some point? Not sure when this was made but it looks fairly old. Any other info would be appreciated
this is COMPLETELY sound minerals in the sedimentation , fluidum double ring reverse,revival blue, ablatie made around 1890
i am an ass , t is not highly likely , that it is completely sound of real revival blue , the question it is complety sound by the ORIGINAL KANGI !!!BLUE ass i forget to make the mounting consistent around 1700
The use of imperial reign marks (nianhao) on porcelain had become a regular feature of ceramic production by the 15th century in Ming China. Concurrently, the habit had developed of using double circles to enclose such reign marks on the bottoms of vases, bowls, etc.
When the Qing dynasty succeeded the Ming in 1644, the use of nianhao initially continued but was suspended for a period by imperial edict during the Kangxi reign (1660-1722). Before the use of nianhao was again authorized, some kilns continued applying double circles to porcelains to suggest a reign mark.
The later use of a stand-alone double circle in place of reign mark was intended to link the porcelain to the Kangxi era.
