    This heavy pair of ornate scissors has curved blades and marks indicating silver, 4100 and the initials GW. We suspect German heritage but are unsure. Appreciate any insight.

      I would suspect, as you categorized, they are indeed sewing scissors. To their origin, I dunno...? :-)
