Bought today - this Chinese wine pot 18”ish high x 14 “ish wide , told it was made 1950-70s & would have had rice wine with a corked top sealed with wax !
Would you believe they would use these then throw them away in the trash !!
Bough from one of my customers who is Chinese and brought it back from china in the early 70s , she thinks the words say -l to r
river or water - cave- then a word she doesn’t know and thinks it’s possibly a communist word !
On the base there’s what looks like the letter -A-
Which protrudes from the pottery not engraved !
Any ideas on wording or pot itself would be very much appreciated ???? thanks for looking sd

Thanks jscott0363 for your cool comments , it’s a great shape & good condition luckily ! The A on the base confuses me unless it’s a sort of Chinese mark that looks like an A ?
