      OK! Thanks! Wow. Looking at Ebay, they are really popular in Australia. I thought they were a southern U.S. thing!

      The beads act as weights to keep the doily in place, but you probably already knew that.
      Nicely made :^)
      A fun conversation/educational piece for the young generation .
