I picked this vase up over the weekend. I was told that it is french, I have no idea. It appears to be hand painted and it does look old. The only thing on the bottom are the numbers "10628" and a number "4". It is in very nice condition. And the colors are beautiful. Would love some info about it if anyone could help. Im not sure what it is made of either. Maybe porcelain but I'm not sure.
Nice vase, I don't think it is french, but more than likely German. The Germans didn't like to mark their items.

I've been looking at the bottom of this vase more and it almost looks like there is some kind of writing or print like around the joint of the bottom. Like right where the vase meet the bottom. But I cannot make it out. Did anyone do the markings like that?
I found out that the woman on this vase is Madame Elisabeth Vigee Le Brun, was born in Paris on April 16, 1755. She was a famous painter in France. She did alot of self portrait items. This is one of them with her daughter. I still do not know any more info about the vase itself. But I am trying to find out more.
Do the numbers on the bottom have a meaning?
