I am looking for a little help with this piece I picked up. The bowl stand about 3 1/4 inches tall, 6 1/2 inches wide with the foot being around 3 inches. It has a beautiful ribbing with a double rib on the rib. The condition is perfect. The foot ring is unglazed. The only mark is shown an "N 179". I have found a few similar marks and they are either French or English. A friend suggested Chinese, because of the unglazed foot, but it doesn't look Chinese to me. I believe it dates to the 1770's to 1810's period. Thanks for any information anyone can give me.
Possibly French- look similar to Niderviller Faience factory marks from the the 18th century, maybe ’79, not 179? I will see what I can find out

Thanks for your help! I found several references to the Niderviller factory in the pooks I have in my library. I had a feeling it was but, just really didn't think it was that old. Especially I bought it in a Goodwill store for $.99 + tax for a grand total of $1.05.
